About Blussh

Blussh Romance Festival is the loving brainchild of uber film producer extraordinaire Kylie Pascoe and heavy culture consumer Sue-Anne Chapman.

With a strong desire to bring together their loves of films and books under one festival umbrella, they hope, through the romance lens, to deliver a carefully curated program of stories and events for the citizens of south east Queensland.

Sue-Anne Chapman

Sue-Anne Chapman is passionate about providing exceptional experiences for people.  Through engagement, collaboration, kindness and determination, Sue-Anne makes things happen. Sue-Anne has over 20 years’ experience in tourism, economic development, sports and arts and culture industries.  Sue-Anne loves bringing exceptional humans together to build events and experiences that will positively impact upon people’s lives.

Kylie Pascoe

Kylie Pascoe is a producer with over 20 years’ experience in strategic film and TV marketing. She broke new ground in subscription television, creating innovative campaigns alongside several Hollywood Studios. In 1996 she moved into film and has been behind the release of 27 feature films, TV and online series – from Sampson and Delilah to Paranormal Activity. Kylie spent two years as the director of Queensland’s largest film festival, creating three of their flagship events. In 2016, Kylie redefined her career as a Producer and is currently collaborating with film practitioners on various projects.

Sasha Close

Sasha Close has worked extensively in the Australian cinema and screen industry, starting in distribution before moving into exhibition, programming, and festivals. A highly regarded screen industry executive and leader in the independent screen and film sector, Sasha sat on the Board of the Independent Cinemas Association (2016-19) and was a member of Screen Australia’s Gender Matters Taskforce (2017-19). In 2016, Sasha was the recipient of the Natalie Miller Fellowship recognising female leadership in the screen industry.
 
Sasha was most recently Head of Programming for the Brisbane International Film Festival and Gold Coast Film Festival and currently consults to screen, cinema, and content businesses. Sasha is the current President of the Natalie Miller Fellowship and passionate about supporting gender equity and diversity in the Australian screen sector.
